Governor Proclaims January 2019 as ELO Month in New Hampshire

Governor Sununu signed a proclamation making January 2019 Extended Learning Opportunity month in New Hampshire. The proclamation reads:

WHEREAS, students, schools, and businesses must remain aware of the enduring importance of building strategic partnerships that bring business leaders, local government, schools and business together to plan and develop programs to create workforce opportunities for students; and

WHEREAS, New Hampshire has been a leader in building and maintaining an educated workforce with college and career ready skills; and

WHEREAS, Extended Learning Opportunities build competencies and skills, making more informed, responsible and productive students in a mutually beneficial partnership; and

WHEREAS, Extended Learning Opportunities engage, educate, and empower students in real-world business environments while providing a qualified, productive, and career ready workforce; and

WHEREAS, Extended Learning Opportunities afford students and business a mutually beneficial partnership so that the students get the experience and the businesses have better prepared future employees coming from a high school environment; and

WHEREAS, it is important to embolden all New Hampshire students, schools and businesses to actively to actively participate in Extended Learning Opportunities so they remain cognizant and learned;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHRISTOPHER T. SUNUNU, GOVERNOR of the State of New Hampshire, do hereby proclaim JANUARY 2019 AS EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY MONTH in the State of New Hampshire and call this to the attention of all citizens.
